Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City.
Sterling has become the first major signing since Todd Boehly’s takeover of the Blues, and the 27-year-old penned a farewell letter to City on Wednesday.
Since joining City from Liverpool in the summer of 2015, the England winger netted an impressive 131 goals in 337 games for the club, winning four Premier League titles and five domestic cups along the way.
But after falling out of favour somewhat last season and entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad, Sterling has decided to move on.
He will add some much-needed firepower to Chelsea’s attack following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.
Premier League champions City, meanwhile, could now use the money received from the sales of Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to fund a move for Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella.
