Chelsea complete the signing of João Pedro | OneFootball

Chelsea have announced the signing of forward João Pedro who has signed an eight-year contract with the club.

The 23-year-old follows the familiar trail of players (and managers) going from Brighton & Hove Albion to the Stamford Bridge club.

João Pedro's deal is worth a reported £55 million (€63.5m) with the potential for a further £5 million (€5.8m) in add-ons with the Blues having pipped Newcastle United to the player's signature.

Speaking about his move João Pedro was quote by the Chelsea website as saying: "Everyone knows this is a big club with a great history. They had brilliant players in the past and have brilliant players now. So I am excited to join and you know when you are a Chelsea player you must think one thing — win."

The Brazilian began his career at Fluminense before moving to Watford and then making the switch to the Seagulls in the summer of 2023. In his two years on the south coast, João Pedro has 70 times in total, scoring 30 goals and assisting 10 more.
