A Chelsea co-owner is set to take control of the LA Lakers in what is going to go down in history as a huge takeover deal.
Chelsea beat Los Angeles FC 2-0 in their Club World Cup opening group game on Monday night in what was a very strange and subdued atmosphere in front of just 22,000 people in a huge stadium.
It was far from vintage Chelsea but in the end they just got the job done and three points on the board to set them up for a good starts.
The goals came from a lovely Nicolas Jackson assist to Pedro Neto to finish in the first half. And then new signing Liam Delap also provided a superb assist for Enzo Fernandez to run into the box and tap in to score.
The Independent report Chelsea co-owner Mark Walter is set to take control of the LA Lakers in a deal that would make the basketball team the most expensive sports franchise ever.
While already being a minority owner of the Lakers, Walter is now set to expand his control at the Los Angeles team.
It only means that the rich people that own Chelsea Football Club are essentially just going to get richer and that is obviously good news for Chelsea.
Of course, having owners who have experience of owning sports teams is also a massive plus in this day and age, and it looks like Walter has some serious ambitions in the world of sports adding another club to his roster, in full at least.
