Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Villarreal for goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen.

The Athletic claim that the Blues are in discussions with the Spanish side over a move that could cost the Premier League side between €20m-€25m.

Jörgensen also has interest from Marseille for his signature but the Denmark under 21 international is believed to be keen on a switch to west London.

Jorgensen established himself as Villarreal’s undisputed number one last term, making 41 appearances for the Yellow Submarine as they finished eighth in LaLiga.

The young shot-stopper only signed a new five-year deal with Villarreal last month with that contract including a €45m release clause.

Current Chelsea shot-stopper Djordje Petrović is, according to the same report, believed to a surprise candidate to be sold this summer despite making 31 appearances for the Blues last term.

Chelsea already have Robert Sánchez and Marcus Bettinelli on their books as goalkeepers and will see Kepa return from his loan to Real Madrid.
