Chelsea chief Cech: Mendy has no weaknesses

Chelsea chief Petr Cech has heaped praise on Edouard Mendy.

Cech was influential in bringing Mendy from his former club Rennes last summer.

He said: "This is a goalkeeper with no weaknesses. He plays well with his feet, knows how to deliver the ball at any distance and is exceptionally good at dominating crossing.

"He also knows how to deal with difficult moments. When you have gone through such difficult moments as, for example, Mendy, when he was left without work, you probably endure the pressure in the world of football more easily."
