Chelsea fans have been receiving emails from the club offering matchday packages for Sunday’s Premier League game against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
As shared by the Times Chief Football Writer Henry Winter on social media platform X, the Blues are charging £1,780 for The Dugout Club, £960 for The Diamond Suite and £900 for the Champions Club Box.
Chelsea are testing the waters and while it could eventually reduce the number of affordable tickets for ordinary supporters, they are likely to succeed with their new packages.
Unfortunately, they could start looking for ways to make more seats available to accommodate their new packages and keep marketing them at a premium price.
Chelsea will generate more money from ticket sales, but it will eventually affect the Stamford Bridge atmosphere, which could have a bearing on their performances on the pitch.
It is unknown whether these high packages will be effectively used to subsidise the 18-24-year-old bracket, but getting a ticket as a member to watch Chelsea home games is almost impossible right now.
There is barely a waiting list for season tickets as they are sold to members with the highest number of points, which cannot be built up when getting tickets is nearly impossible.
The club need more money, and matchday tickets are a huge source of revenue, but they need to consider the average fan and do better.
They are already struggling to get much-needed results even with the present atmosphere at Stamford Bridge, and there is bound to be a drop if they decide to keep increasing the number of hospitality tickets.
