Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has joked that all London clubs should work with transfer bans, following the emergence of striker Tammy Abraham.
Abraham – a product of their infamous Cobham academy – has scored 13 goals in 25 Premier League appearances this season.
The 22-year-old was recently named Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards, which prompted the tongue-in-cheek statement from Buck.
“The nominees show a transfer ban is a very good thing,” he joked.
“In fact, I recommend it to all of the London clubs.”
Abraham is expected to make Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the European Championship this summer.
