Chelsea took advantage of some characteristic defensive mistakes from Arsenal to win their Mind Series friendly at the Emirates on Sunday.

Kai Havertz and Tammy Abraham scored either side of Granit Xhaka to secure a 2-1 victory.

Both teams named strong starting sides for the contest.

New Gunners signing Ben White made his debut as a second-half substitute, while N'Golo Kante was back on the bench for Chelsea.

It was the visitors who broke the deadlock after 26 minutes when Timo Werner played in Havertz to score.

Thomas Partey limped off injured before Arsenal equalised thanks to a fine header from Xhaka.

But it wasn't long before Chelsea were back in front, with Abraham pouncing on a stray pass from Hector Bellerin to give his side the lead.

Joe Willock appeared to equalise again for Arsenal after his effort hit the bar and appeared to cross the line, but the goal was not given.
