Chelsea can stamp Champions League ticket after Spurs and Leicester slip

Chelsea against Manchester City this afternoon will be an odd game.

For one thing, the two sides have just played each other in the FA Cup semi final. For another, they’re playing again in the Champions League final in a few weeks.

One the one hand, City can win the title by beating Chelsea today, on the other hand they can afford to rest players and perhaps hold back some of their secrets ahead of the European clash.

Chelsea have their work cut out – after Leicester’s defeat to Newcastle and Tottenham’s and loss against Leeds, Thomas Tuchel knows that a win today will all but seal Champions League football next year. With 3 games left to play, the Blues could jump to third place in the table if they win today.

We expect both managers to use their deep squads to make changes, so this is a very difficult one to call – but the rewards for a win are clear for both teams.
