Chelsea call Kounde to tell him deal is still on | OneFootball

Chelsea will have a new owner by the end of this month, meaning that the paralysis that’s hurt our transfer dealings will finally be over.

They write that Chelsea’s “technical secretary” (presumably they mean Petr Cech) has called Kounde’s agent to assure him that a deal is still on the table for him this summer.

The club came close to signing the Seville defender last summer but in the end didn’t stump up the cash the La Liga side wanted.

This time around they are playing catch up, having not been able to negotiate at all in the last couple of months. Let’s hope a new injection of impetus from above can give all these deals life again. We’re a lot shorter on centre backs now than we were last summer.
