Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel says Mainz coach Bo Svensson would've been a worthy winner of the Germany Manager of the Year award.

Champions League winner Tuchel won the award last weekend.

But former Mainz coach Tuchel says Svensson would've deserved the trophy also. He told Kicker: "I gratefully accept the award as an award for the whole team, because I see myself as a team player. Therefore, the personal prices are a bit uncomfortable for me.

"Who will decide what the best coaching performance is? Maybe Christian Streich or Bo Svensson deserved the award. Maybe you could drive it to Freiburg every year or give it to Heidenheim, because the work there is unique and the coach alone is not enough to win the Champions League."
