Chelsea have reportedly met with Maurizio Sarri and his representatives on Friday with the Italian coach on the verge of signing for the west London club.
The Blues are almost certainly set to sack Antonio Conte in the coming days despite the former Juventus man winning the Premier League and the FA Cup in his two seasons in charge.
The Guardian are reporting that the hierarchy at Chelsea – minus Roman Abramovich – met with Sarri and his agent in London as they look to find Conte’s replacement.
The 59-year-old tactician earned praise from across Europe last season for the way his Napoli team played, and went head-to-head with Juve for the Serie A title.
After leaving Stadio San Paolo earlier this week, it’s believed that Sarri is weighing up potential moves to either Stamford Bridge or Zenit St Petersburg.
