Chelsea have bid €20 million for Olympique de Marseille target Filip Jörgensen (22), according to an update by Fabrizio Romano. The Danish goalkeeper is reportedly keen on the move away from Villarreal and would be happy to join the Premier League side. Marseille had been in the running for Jörgensen but it appears likely that they are going to miss out on his signature.
Despite a release clause valued at €45 million, Villarreal reportedly had only set their asking price at €20 million for the young talent. Marseille were unwilling to meet this price and their Spanish counterparts did not want to lower their evaluation. This impasse has allowed Chelsea to swoop in, with the Premier League club happy to bid €20 million.
The search for a goalkeeper will likely continue for Marseille with the club having already been rejected by Álvaro Valles (26) who was unwilling to accept a deal that would see him leave Las Palmas for the south of France.
