Chelsea have expressed their interest in Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as manager Frank Lampard continues his search for a new first-choice goalkeeper.
The Sunday Express reports the Blues have asked the Italian’s agent, Mino Raiola, to keep them abreast of the stopper’s situation.
Donnarumma’s contract with the Rossoneri runs out at the end of next season, and renewal talks have stalled with the player’s wage demands proving the sticking point.
This has alerted the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to the player’s possible availability.
Given Raiola’s reputation as a hard-nosed negotiator, he and the player are likely to do quite well financially out of whatever deal is agreed.
The 21-year-old Italy international is valued at between £55m and £60m.
Chelsea would be able to fund any purchase through the sale of Kepa.
The Stamford Bridge outfit paid a world record fee of €80m for the Spaniard in the summer of 2018, but Lampard has lost faith in the former Athletic Bilbao man after a season plagued by inconsistency.
