The last few years have been excellent for La Masia as several youngsters have made their way to the FC Barcelona first team and continued to remain important members of the Catalan team’s squad.
This is clear from the team roles of players like Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Lamine Yamal, and Pau Cubarsí, who are all regular starters for Hansi Flick this season.
Another player who has made the leap to the first team this season and who continues to impress with his talents is the midfielder Marc Casadó, who has been starting midfield pivot for Flick since the long-term injury suffered by Marc Bernal.
Casadó has been performing at a surprisingly high level this season, and his performances have not really gone unnoticed by other top clubs across Europe.
This is particularly clear from a report from Cadena SER, which claims that Premier League side Chelsea is interested in the young midfielder and has approached him about joining their team.
The London club has been in a rebuilding phase for quite some time now, and is always on the lookout for the brightest talent present in the market.

With Casadó, the Premier League side will be looking to make an investment for the future, as at 21 years of age, he still has a lot of room for further growth. However, there is no doubt that his arrival can also strengthen Enzo Maresca’s midfield immediately as well.
With his status as a regular starter in the first team, there would not be a lot of motivation for Casadó to leave Barcelona to join Chelsea. However, the allure of the Premier League can be a factor that can make him consider this move.
Still, there are plenty of reasons to remain skeptical about this move happening in the coming months, especially since the La Masia-trained midfielder is a key player in Hansi Flick’s team.
However, the resurgence of Frenkie de Jong and the return of Marc Bernal in the coming months could impact his role in Flick’s squad. It remains to be seen how his situation unfolds, but the Premier League club will not find it easy to pry away one of Barcelona’s breakout stars this season.
