A loss in a big final always sharpens transfer interest for a bit as fans try to figure out how they can get their team closer to their victorious rival, and this week is no different for Chelsea fans.

“What would things have been like if we’d have a mobile defensive midfielder?”, some are presumably asking, and according to Catalan paper Sport, Chelsea are wondering that same thing.

They report that the Blues’ interest in Aurelien Tchouameni is considerable, and in fact that the club have “already spoken” to the Monaco man – along with Manchester United.

Barcelona are linked too of course, but it’s made clear that he’s an “impossible dream” for them given his price tag and potential wages.

Tchouameni might not have made a difference against Liverpool on Sunday, but that doesn’t stop anyone looking ahead to how they can strengthen for a better chance at all these cups next year.
