Real Madrid have an exciting young talent coming through the ranks at the club in the form of 16-year-old Joan Martinez.

The teenage centre-back, likened to club legend Sergio Ramos, made his unofficial first-team debut in the pre-season friendly against AC Milan earlier this week and gave a very good account of himself.

Rated very highly within the club, Martinez appears to be attracting plenty of interest from outside as well.

Chelsea, Manchester United keen

Indeed, according to AS, two Premier League heavyweights, Chelsea and Manchester United, have expressed an interest in signing Joan Martinez from Real Madrid.

Chelsea have made it a habit to poach young and exciting talents from clubs across the globe while Manchester United always have an eye on youth prospects with potential.

Apart from them, some other top Premier League sides are also understood to be monitoring the 16-year-old Martinez, along with several other big teams from across Europe.

However, the interest from other clubs does not worry Real Madrid as they know that Martinez wants to stay put with them and succeed.

After all, the youngster turned down a host of other Spanish clubs, including the likes of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Sevilla before joining Los Blancos last summer.

As such, Real Madrid are calm about the situation and happy with the youngster’s progression, more so with how he handled himself in the game against AC Milan.

Martinez’s contract with the reigning Spanish and European champions runs until the summer of 2026.
