Chelsea and Inter have reached an agreement in principle over the return of Romelu Lukaku to the Serie A club on loan.

That’s according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who has reported that the two clubs have agreed a deal which will see the Belgian rejoin Inter on a season-long loan.

Lukaku will undergo a medical next week ahead of completing the return to the side he left last summer.

The centre-forward has scored eight Premier League goals for the Blues since his reported €97.5m move to Stamford Bridge in 2021.
