Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion to sign left-back Marc Cucurella.

That’s according to The Telegraph, who amongst various sources on Wednesday night, reported that the 24-year-old’s prospective move to Stamford Bridge is as good as done.

It is being reported that the fee agreed between the two clubs is around £52.5m for the Spanish defender.

Premier League champions Manchester City had been in talks with the Seagulls over the player in recent weeks but had refused to meet the valuation set by Brighton.

Cucurella moved to the AMEX Stadium last summer and impressed in his debut campaign in the English top-flight.
