Chelsea and Arsenal watch true prodigy rated among the best talents in the world

Chelsea have a stacked squad full of talent – in fact, there’s so much talent that not everyone is getting much playing time.

On top of that, they’ve got tons of great players out on loan, at their sister club Strasbourg, or arriving on future transfers which have already been agreed.

They’ve also got an academy producing great young players at a clip which never ceases to amaze us.

But despite all that, the model remains to buy the best young players, and so we shouldn’t be surprised to see the latest young talent linked with a move to the Blues.

Konstantinos Karetsas of KRC Genk is the latest name to come up, with the teenager having recently been promoted to the first team. He’s got 16 appearances already this season, and has attracted attention from Arsenal as well as the Blues, according to claims from SportWitness.

After making his professional debut as a 15 year old, Karetsas has been listed time and again among the best young players in the world, and we’re sure there are scouts watching his every move.

Chelsea would look to 2026 and beyond for latest precocious wonderkid

This would be one of the future transfers set up for a very long way down the line. Karetsas only turned 17 in November, so he would need to wait until January 2026 to actually complete a move to Stamford Bridge. Until then we would presumably be leaving him on loan at Genk, assuming he continues to keep playing there fairly regularly.

Still, that’s the advantage of having such a well established squad – instead of worrying about the present, we can worry about the future, and start planning for 2026 rather than scrambling worrying about next weekend.

If Karetsas keeps playing, expect his name to be mentioned more and more in connection with Premier League teams.
