Chelsea ace ranks second in Europe’s top five leagues for key stat highlighting importance to the team

Chelsea are currently struggling but one player who’s been superb this season is Moises Caicedo, and the stats back it up.
The Ecuador international has been a key player for Enzo Maresca’s side, and after a slow start following his £115m British record transfer he’s really found his feet.
Caicedo has arguably been the best midfielder in the league this season, and is now showing why Chelsea paid the money they did for him.
The 23-year-old is so important to the way the Blues play, covering so much ground and he’s looked equally comfortable alongside Romeo Lavia or Enzo Fernandez.
Caicedo has even impressed at right back on occasions this season, showing off his versatility, but it’s in the middle of the park where he excels.
Jason Cundy feels the midfield maestro is arguably more important to Chelsea than Cole Palmer, and he’s perhaps the one player in the squad the Blues really can’t afford to be without.

Maresca has described the Ecuador international as the perfect player for a coach, and Chelsea are going to need him at his best if they are to qualify for the Champions League.
Caicedo has been getting recognition for his performances this season, and the stats back-up just how good he’s been.
According to Who Scored Caicedo has won possession back 159 times this season, which is only second to Barcelona star Pedri with 161 in Europe’s top five leagues.

Caicedo has started all 27 of Chelsea’s Premier League games this season, outlining his importance to the team, although he’s currently one yellow card away from serving a two game ban, which the Blues could really do without at this stage of the campaign.
Chelsea could look to bring another midfielder in this summer, and they’ve been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Pablo Barrios, but one thing is for certain Caciedo’s place in the team isn’t under threat.
