The 23-year-old featured in both of Canada’s November international friendlies while she has been in impressive form for her club.
Fleming has had to bide her time for minutes at Chelsea but she seems to have really made the breakthrough this year. The attacker played in all five of The Blues’ November matches while she contributed three goals including the winner against Aston Villa at The Banks’s Stadium.
On the international stage, Fleming ends the calendar year having had the most starts for Canada while she has played the most minutes of any member of the squad. She is also the team’s joint-top scorer for 2021.
Fleming’s latest Canada Soccer Women’s Player of the Month award win comes on the back of the attacker picking up the awards in March and October. Only Bayern Munich men’s team winger Alphonso Davies has won a Canada Soccer Player of the Month award as many times as Fleming in the current calendar year.
Fleming will be hoping to continue her good form when Chelsea take on London rivals Arsenal in the 2020/2021 Vitality Women’s FA Cup final on Sunday afternoon.
