Chelsea star Carney Chukwuemeka won’t continue to be ignored by Graham Potter, according to journalist Simon Phillips.
Chukwuemeka arrived at Stamford Bridge from Aston Villa in the summer window, but the youngster is still waiting to make his senior debut for the Blues.
Despite only making a handful of Premier League starts, Chelsea still forked out £20m on the teenager.
Clearly encouraged by his potential, Thomas Tuchel made the shock move for the 18-year-old, who starred for England Under-20s at the European Championships.
Regardless, Chukwuemeka has either been left out of the squad or an unused substitute in each of the Blues’ eight competitive games this season.
But Phillips recently told GiveMeSport that the midfielder has been impressing Potter at Cobham, while he scored twice in a training ground friendly against Brighton the weekend before last.

As a result, Phillips reckons Chukwuemeka is knocking on the door for an opportunity and believes it’s only a matter of time before one comes his way.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “He’s doing all he can and he’s working hard and there’s no way that he can keep being ignored going forward.
“I think he will get chances, whether that’s off the bench or a start here or there in a cup competition. As time goes on, he will definitely get more games.”
Chukwuemeka doesn’t appear far away from getting some time on the pitch, but his position is one of the most competitive in the squad.
Despite being able to play in midfield and in the No.10 role, the ex-Villa star is competing against the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher and Mason Mount, making his task extremely difficult.
Therefore, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly when Chukwuemeka might be thrown in by Potter.
However, Chelsea play 13 games in three competitions from when they travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday until the season pausing for the World Cup in mid-November.
Potter will have to utilise his squad during that period, so Chukwuemeka will have to stay patient and make an impression when he finally gets an opportunity.
