Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will leave Stamford Bridge at the first opportunity this summer, journalist Paul Brown has told GiveMeSport.

The 33-year-old only joined the Blues last September but has been overlooked by manager Graham Potter this season.

According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Aubameyang will leave Chelsea in the next transfer window.

The Italian journalist has also stated that the former Gabon international recently received an offer from Los Angeles FC but was not keen on a move to MLS.

He has made just four starts in the Premier League this season, as per Transfermarkt, so it obviously would not be a shock to see him depart west London in the summer.

Aubameyang has also been left out of Chelsea's Champions League squad, showing just how far he is from the first-team picture.

What has Paul Brown said about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Chelsea?

Brown thinks Aubameyang will now be desperate to leave Chelsea.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: "He's not a young man anymore and you have to remember that Aubameyang left a situation where he was pretty much scoring goals for fun at one of the biggest clubs in the world in Barcelona to come to one where it's just been a bit of a disaster for him.

"And at his age, he needs to play. I think if he finds a suitable way out, he'll escape at the first opportunity and I don't think anyone at Chelsea will particularly miss him."

Should Graham Potter give Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang more opportunities?

He might as well. While the forward is here, there is no reason why he should not be utilised, especially with Chelsea performing so poorly in attack this term.

In their first 23 Premier League games, Potter's men managed as many goals, which is abysmal for a team of their stature and for a club who have spent so much money in the last two transfer windows.

Is Aubameyang, who is earning £160,000 a week at Stamford Bridge, according to Capology, going to solve every problem? No, but he certainly has something to offer. When the former Barcelona man has started, he has not even looked that bad, scoring in games against Crystal Palace and AC Milan.

At this moment in time, he is a much better option than someone like David Datro Fofana - a 20-year-old who has just arrived from Norway.
