Shabab Al Ahli Dubai has identified Malian U-23 international Cheick Oumar Keïta as their prime midfield target, with negotiations already underway through the player's representatives. The 20-year-old anchor man enjoyed a breakthrough season with second-division Hatta Club, starting every match and propelling them to fifth position in the UAE First Division League.

The reigning UAE Pro League champions face competition from domestic rivals Al Ain FC, who've also tracked Keïta's development since his arrival from AS Réal Bamako last summer. Both Emirati powerhouses recognize the young midfielder as one of the second tier's standout performers.

European scouts from Lille, SC Braga, and former Red Star Belgrade sporting director Nenad Vanić had previously monitored the technically-gifted midfielder, though Middle Eastern clubs now lead the chase for his signature.
