Charlton Athletic have signed former England U-19 international midfielder Emma Bissell from Everton on an 18-month deal.
She graduated from the Manchester City Academy to play for the first team, continuing in the WSL with Bristol City. Moving to US college side Florida State Seminoles, she returned to the UK with the Toffees in 2023, appearing 23 times.
Bissell told charltonafc.com: “When you look at Charlton as a team and its history, it’s a really big club. After speaking with Karen [Hills] and hearing her vision and philosophy, I knew it was something I wanted to be part of. You can see how well the girls performed last season and the progress they’re making now. I’m excited to help build and create good memories here.”
Head coach Karen Hills commented: “It’s great to have Emma with us. She will be a fantastic addition to the squad as we approach the second half of the season. Emma is a creative player who I believe will fit in seamlessly, and I look forward to seeing her progress at Charlton.”
