Charlton Athletic sign former Spurs defender Pearse

Charlton Athletic have completed the permanent signing of former Tottenham Hotspur defender Gracie Pearse on a free transfer.

The Addicks announced news of their latest signing via a post on their official club website this afternoon. Pearse has signed a two-year deal with the club.

Pearse joins Charlton Athletic off the back of a successful loan spell with the club in the second half of last season. The 21-year-old defender made four appearances for the South East Londoners in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she provided some important competition for a place in the back-line.

The youngster spent her youth in the Arsenal academy system before joining Crystal Palace on a short-term deal in 2021. A move to Spurs quickly followed where she has continued her development. In addition to her loan spell at Charlton Athletic, Pearse has also enjoyed temporary stays with Crystal Palace and Bristol City whilst on the books of then-parent club Spurs.

After re-joining Charlton Athletic, Pearse said “I think how close we came to being promoted, it is a big part of it and how good the team is together. I feel most happy here and that’s why I made the decision to come back.”

Pearse becomes Charlton Athletic’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
