Charlotte FC have parted ways with head coach Christian Lattanzio, effective immediately.

He originally joined the club as an assistant under former head coach Miguel Angel Ramirez, before taking over as the interim manager when the Spaniard left the team 14 games into The Crown's inaugural 2022 season. Lattanzio guided the Eastern Conference side to an overall 22W-24L-17D record in his year-and-a-half in charge, qualifying to a playoff Wild Card spot in 2023 for the first time in club history before falling 5-2 to the New York Red Bulls.

“We would like to thank Christian and Andy for their time at the club,” CLTFC owner David Tepper said in a statement. “They helped guide us through the last 18 months and we are all appreciative of their contributions to Charlotte FC.”

Assistant manager Andy Quy will also leave the Eastern Conference club, forcing the front office to begin the search for a new coach right away.

“A thorough and comprehensive search for the club’s next head coach will begin immediately. Out of respect to all prospective candidates, we will not have further comment at this time,” sporting director Zoran Krneta said.

Charlotte will have three months to conduct a thorough search for a manager before the 2024 Major League Soccer campaign kicks off in late February.
