Charleroi have announced that they have picked up the purchase option on Syrian defender Aiham Ousou. The 24-year-old central defender has played 19 games on loan with the Zebras and has impressed enough for the side to make the move permanent. He has started 14 of those matches and has become a key member of the defence in recent months. It has not been confirmed the amount that Charleroi have paid the Czech side to make the move permanent, although they did state that it was the biggest transfer for a defender paid by the club. Ousou has signed a deal with the club until 2028.
Ousou began his career in Sweden with Häcken before moving to Slavia Prague. Prior to this summer he had played 73 games for the side, scoring twice. He spent the start of the 2023/2024 season on loan back at Häcken, helping them at the end of their domestic season. He spent the second half of the 2023/2024 season in Spain on loan at Cadiz.
