Charleroi have announced the signing of Jeremy Petris from Levski Sofia. The 26-year-old right-back has signed a three-year deal, with an option of a further two years. Petris began his career with Paris FC, where he made just a handful of appearances before moving to Italy. During his time in the lower reaches of Italy he played for the likes of ASDC Gozzano, Crotone, AS Bisceglie and Pro Vercelli.

In February of 2022 he moved to Bulgaria to join FA Tsarsko selo 2015 Sofia. After 10 appearances at the back end of the 2021/2022 season, he stayed in the Bulgarian capital to join Levski Sofia. Over the past one and a half seasons he has made 53 appearances for the club, scoring one goal.

Charleroi are a side in desperate need of a turnaround in fortunes. They are currently 13th, meaning they would have to compete in the relegation play-offs if they do not turn things around. The Zebras have only won one of their previous eight matches in all competition.
