Jonathan Rowe is unlikely to leave Norwich City this month despite considerable interest in his signature, according to an update on X from journalist Ed Aarons.
The 20-year-old has earned this interest in his signature this season, bursting into life at the start of this term and continuing to perform well under manager David Wagner.
Plenty of players may have come through the door at Carrow Road in the summer, with some experienced heads arriving to provide some valuable on and off-field contributions, but it's England youth international Rowe who has stood out for much of the campaign.
Registering 13 goals and four assists in 31 competitive appearances this term, Rowe has been partly responsible for saving Wagner's job and guiding the Canaries into ninth place.
Considering they were in the bottom half of the division not too long ago, Norwich will be pleased with where they currently are.
Rowe will also be pleased with where he currently is, with his highlight of the season coming against the Canaries' arch-rivals Ipswich Town back in December.
Scoring a brace in a 2-2 draw at Portman Road, he had an excellent day in Suffolk and solidified his status as a real favourite of the supporters.
Aston Villa reportedly sent scouts to watch Rowe in action not too long ago, although it remains to be seen whether they will continue their pursuit of the Canaries' star considering they are closing in on Morgan Rogers, who will cost a fair amount.
West Ham were also linked with him, but they may need to offload players before they bring him in and they only have a limited amount of time to do so before the window closes.
Lazio have expressed an interest as well.
But an exit doesn't seem to be on the cards before the deadline and all interested teams look set to miss out on the Englishman.
Rowe is currently thriving at Norwich and it doesn't look as though Wagner will be sacked anytime soon.
With this in mind, it seems like Carrow Road is the right place for the young star to be playing his football at this point.
He isn't guaranteed regular starts elsewhere considering his lack of top-level experience and that's another reason why staying at Norwich would be a good idea.
He knows Norfolk inside out and being in a familiar environment should allow him to thrive and accelerate his development further.
That will help him to secure a move elsewhere in the future, so he doesn't need to rush and try and force an exit now, at a time when he's developing so well.
