Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has revealed that loanee Jaidon Anthony will be remaining at Elland Road for the remainder of the season, making this admission to Leeds Live.

These comments came after Anthony's omission from the matchday squad - something that created speculation about the winger's future and whether he could potentially be set for a return to AFC Bournemouth.

The Whites managed to thrive without him at their disposal, with Farke's men securing an excellent 4-0 win over promotion rivals Ipswich Town in the early kick-off yesterday afternoon.

Pascal Struijk opened the scoring for the hosts, Leif Davis guided the ball into his own net and Crysencio Summerville scored a penalty shortly before the interval, having been crucial in the second goal.

3-0 up at half-time, the Tractor Boys still had the opportunity to make a comeback, but Joel Piroe killed the game in the 52nd minute with his strike, leaving the Whites in a good position to go on and potentially catch Kieran McKenna's men.

There's still a seven-point gap between the two teams though and Leeds will need all the attacking firepower they can get if they want to give themselves the best chance of securing a top-two spot.

It may be a two-team race between Leeds and Ipswich for second place, considering Leicester City are flying at the moment.

And as Summerville has shown, the Whites' wing play could be crucial for them, with the Dutchman, Dan James, Wilfried Gnonto and Anthony all available as high-quality options for Farke.

Chances of AFC Bournemouth recalling Jaidon Anthony

Andoni Iraola (pictured above) currently has Luis Sinisterra on loan from the Whites - and it doesn't look as though the Cherries will stitch the Championship side up by recalling Anthony.

Speaking to Leeds Live after yesterday's game, Farke revealed the reason for the loanee's absence, he said: "Yes, no chance for him.

"Came into training yesterday and felt horrendous. Doctors sent him home. Hopefully recovers for Preston.

"Yes, he will stay with us."

Leeds United should retain Jaidon Anthony

Anthony may not always start for Leeds, but he's an excellent squad option to have.

And having promotion-winning experience under his belt, that's beneficial for a side who are desperate to secure a Premier League return at the first time of asking.

As previously mentioned, the Whites' wing play could be crucial to their success considering Patrick Bamford hasn't been firing this season and Joe Gelhardt hasn't been able to make too much of an impact up top.

The futures of Summerville and Gnonto are also unclear ahead of January, with both potentially set to be linked with moves away from Elland Road next month.

That could make keeping Anthony even more crucial, but the Bournemouth man should be retained for the remainder of the season regardless of what happens with the duo mentioned above.
