There is no time to rue the 3-4 home defeat in the cup semi-final - and that's just the way we'd want it to be! It's time to put that behind us and shift our focus forward. The Austrian Klassiker against Rapid on Sunday is not just a matter of pride, however, with a very challenging and important clash awaiting us!
The Rapid side coached by Robert Klauß have found some strong form this spring. They followed a 3-0 win in the league at TSV Hartberg with a victory by the same scoreline in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup semi-final against Leoben. The Green and Whites are therefore brimming with confidence - and ambition too, with just a point separating them from a top three spot.
Rapid's run of great results will hopefully come to an end this Sunday at the Red Bull Arena. We are unbeaten against the Viennese rivals in 18 Bundesliga matches, after all, and are yet to lose against the Green and Whites in the championship group. A Roko Simic brace took us to a 2-0 win the last time we hosted Rapid.
We are looking forward to every single person who can come to support us at the Red Bull Arena as we aim to finish our packed week of fixtures on a high. Do you still need a ticket for Sunday? You can book your seat in our online Ticket Shop:

I think it's great that we can play again on Sunday. We have to switch our focus immediately, and we all have the opportunity to do better. Rapid are clearly in good form at the moment as I see it. They are on a good run of results and are a side that has come back well from recent difficulties. I am assuming we are to face strong opponents on Sunday.

We have taken a look with the team at the match against Sturm and spoken about things we have to improve. We want to be as punchy on Sunday as we are known for and as we have been in recent weeks. Rapid are opponents who are developing really well when you look at their results in 2024, structure and player quality. It's down to us to show our typical way of playing from the start and display our true colours.
