Bournemouth tipped to make a permanent bid for Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers

BBC broadcaster Kris Temple has claimed that Bournemouth are expected to make a bid to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis.

This news comes after Temple stated that the Cherries have accepted a £750,000 bid from Cardiff City for their defender Jack Simpson. Carter-Vickers joined Bournemouth on loan in October 2020.

The Tottenham youth academy product has just 4 senior appearances to his name for the club. His last senior appearance for the Lilywhites came back in January 2017. Since then, he has been loaned out six times to six different clubs.

Carter-Vickers was first loaned out to Sheffield United in the summer of 2017. After that, he made a move to Ipswich Town. A move to Welsh team Swansea City followed in the summer of 2018 where he made 30 appearances in the 2018/19 Championship season. After that, he was sent to Stoke City.

Not a big loss?

He then spent the second half of the 2019/20 season at Luton Town, before Bournemouth snapped him up on loan in the last transfer window. However, the 23-year-old has just 2 appearances for the Cherries this season. Both of those appearances have come this month. (h/t Transfermarkt)

He played the full 90 minutes in their most recent Championship game, which they lost 1-0 to Luton. His other appearance was as a centre-back in the 4-1 win FA Cup against Oldham Athletic.

Spurs should not be too bothered if the defender does leave on a permanent basis. The side is well stacked in defence, at least on paper.
