QPR gatecrashed the celebrations for Ole Gunnar Solskjaerās new Manchester United contract as the Championship side hit FOUR past their Premier League counterparts in a stunning 4-2 victory at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
Scorers: Austin 6ā², Dykes 53ā², 59ā², Odubajo 58ā²; Lingard 4ā², Elanga 73ā².
Jesse Lingard reportedly has intentions to stay at Manchester United beyond this summer, and he staked his claim again by firing the visitors in front after just four minutes.
The 28-year-old midfielder was played through on goal by Facundo Pellestriās neat pass before sliding the ball past Seny Dieng.
United werenāt ahead for long though as Charlie Austin headed in Yoann Barbetās cross to equalise two minutes later.
The second half produced a stunning six minute where Solskjaerās side capitulated at the hands of their hosts.
Scottish striker Lyndon Dykes came off the bench to score twice. He reacted first to a a Lee Wallace pull back to score via a deflection off Axel Tuanzebe to put the Rās in front.
Moses Odubajo then produced a stunning drive from 25 yards out after cutting inside on his left foot to shock Lee Grant before Dykes added his second with a fierce effort two minutes later.
There were some positive signs for Solskjaer in the second half as 19-year-old Anthony Elanga pulled one back, placing a shot from just outside the area but it proved to be only a consolation.
Itās a meeting with Premier League new-boys Brentford next up on Wednesday for United.
