New challenges for Aimee Claypole

Claypole spent the first half of this season on loan playing in the Damallsvenskan for Linköping. Across this period, she made 12 appearances and scored three goals, including on her debut.

On the international stage, the 19-year-old has a wealth of experience. The forward represented Finland at U15s level, before switching to England for the U17s, U18s, and U19s.

“I’m really excited to be here. The ambition of the club for the second half of the season is where I want to be as well,” Claypole said following her switch to Durham. “Hopefully it will be a good loan for me and also for the club to try and push for promotion.”

Returning back to the Women’s Championship after a loan spell at Lewes last season, Claypole will hope to help Durham earn to the Women’s Super League. Durham currently sit in fourth but are only one point off top team Birmingham City in this thrilling battle for a space in the top flight next season.
