As attention shifts to the highly anticipated knockout phase, the spotlight turns towards the business end of Europe’s most prestigious club tournament.

Here’s the complete rundown of the upcoming proceedings.

When Is the Champions League Round-of-16 Draw?

Scheduled for Monday (1.00 am GMT) the draw for the last 16 takes place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

Rules for the Last-16 Draw

The eight teams advancing to the knockout stage as group winners will be seeded in the last-16 draw, while the eight runners-up will remain unseeded.

Each fixture will feature one seeded team against one unseeded side, with the draw prohibiting clubs from the same country from facing each other in the last 16.

However, from the quarter-finals onward, this restriction no longer applies.

Group Stage Recap

Group A

Bayern Munich finished at the top of the section with five wins and one draw, leaving second-placed Copenhagen eight points behind.

While Galatasaray secured a switch to the Europa League knockout play-off round, out-of-sorts Manchester United earned the wooden spoon.

Group B

Back to Europe’s elite table after a six-year hiatus, Arsenal steamrolled to a top-place finish, four points ahead of runners-up PSV Eindhoven.

Lens pipped record-time Europa League winners Sevilla to a third-place finish.

Group C

As one of only two sides with maximum points, Real Madrid took Group C by storm, bettering Napoli’s ten-point tally by eight en route to another dominant group stage campaign.

Sporting Braga’s European quest continues in the second-tier competition, while debutants Union Berlin bid an early farewell.

Group D

Despite being level on points and tied in the head-to-head record, Real Sociedad left Serie A pacesetters Inter Milan in their wake to progress as Group D winners.

Benfica’s Matchday 6 triumph in Austria helped them leapfrog Red Bull Salzburg into third at the death.

Group E

A near-flawless Champions League run propelled Atletico Madrid to the top of their group, with Lazio joining the Spaniards in the knockouts as runners-up.

Dutch champions Feyenoord move to the Europa League, while Celtic wave goodbye to continental action.

Group F

In the so-called ‘group of death,’ Borussia Dortmund exceeded expectations to clinch a top-table finish ahead of Ligue 1 juggernauts Paris Saint-Germain.

AC Milan’s 2-1 comeback win at St James’ Park in the last round left Newcastle United’s confidence in tatters, nailing the Magpies to the bottom of the section.

Group G

Reigning Champions League holders Manchester City surged to the top of their group with all six wins, edging out runners-up RB Leipzig in both duels.

Young Boys condemned Red Star Belgrade to a third consecutive bottom-place finish, beating them in Bern to seal a Europa League shift.

Group H

As Group H winners, Barcelona return to the Champions League knockouts after back-to-back group stage eliminations, with Porto progressing as runners-up.

Despite a valiant late attempt to lock down a knockout berth, Shakhtar Donetsk had to settle for a third-place finish, leaving Antwerp stranded at the foot of the table.
