Manchester City have been told by one club in the UEFA Champions League that they would be prepared to sanction a substantial transfer fee for right-back Issa Kabore.

The Burkina Faso international returned to the City Football Academy for the start of pre-season training with Pep Guardiola and his young squad last week, but was subsequently snubbed for a place in their USA tour squad.

With Rico Lewis being deployed in the right-back role for Manchester City’s opening pre-season friendly against Celtic in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Kabore’s absence from the squad, it is now expected that the Englishman could play the remaining three contests.

Manchester City will now travel to New York City for a clash against AC Milan on Saturday night, before turning their attentions to two final friendly matches against FC Barcelona and Premier League rivals Chelsea.

But the reasons for Kabore’s exclusion from the squad may be as simple as fielding interest from potential suitors across the game, with a new report detailing the level of interest in the African right-back this summer.

According to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, Galatasaray are now prepared to pay a £15 million transfer fee for Issa Kabore, but are currently trying to negotiate a smaller sell-on clause from 20 per cent down to 12 per cent.

Interest in the defender was first reported by MailSport’s Jack Gaughan this week, who has also shone light on the interest in Manchester City’s other young highly-rated right-back in Yan Couto, who is now a senior Brazil international.

Following an excellent loan spell in La Liga last season, driving Girona to a UEFA Champions League place for the upcoming campaign, there had been some calls for Yan Couto to secure a place in Manchester City’s first-team squad.

However, the expectation is that a permanent exit will be sanctioned this summer, should a potential suitor meet the valuation of the player set by Manchester City, with Borussia Dortmund understood to be the most interested club at this stage.
