Bologna’s impressive rise under Thiago Motta has seen the club qualify for the Champions League for the first time in 60 years, a feat that will see them look to the summer to prepare properly for a new adventure.

According to Ignazio Genuardi, Bologna have been keeping tabs on two Ligue 1 players: Olympique Lyonnais’s Gift Orban (21) and Stade Brestois’ Lilian Brassier (24).

Brassier in particular is high on the club’s shortlist as a replacement for Joshua Zirkzee (22) with the Dutchman looking increasingly noncommital about his future at the Champions League-bound club.

However, Bologna look as if they will face tough opposition to secure this target, as reported earlier today, the list of clubs interested in Brassier is only growing with AS Monaco, VfB Stuttgart, and Villarreal all linked to the Brest-man.

It would be a surprise to see Orban on the move after only six months in Lyon. The forward has only made sixteen appearances across all competitions and there is still the feeling that he is finding his feet in a new environment.
