Borussia Dortmund received a major blow to their squad ahead of their UEFA Champions League semifinal tie against Paris Saint-Germain. The first leg is on May 1st, and if they want to advance past the Parisians, they’ll need goals, but one player won’t be there to provide them.
The two teams are 180 minutes away from punching their ticket to the final with a date against either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium. As a result, Dortmund and PSG want to have their respective squads at full strength.
Nonetheless, the Bundesliga side will be missing a goal-scoring threat for both games, which makes Dortmund’s plan a little more challenging against the Ligue 1 side. According to L’Equipe, Sébastien Haller is likely to miss the double clash against PSG.
The 29-year-old has been nursing an ankle injury since April 13, and his recovery period is estimated to be three weeks. As a result, the German side will have to look at other players to provide a goal-scoring touch if they want to eliminate Luis Enrique and his team.
