AC Milan have made the decision to extend the contract of head coach Stefano Pioli by a further two years, thus committing to a future with him at the helm.
In a statement on the club’s official website, the Rossoneri have communicated that Pioli has put pen to paper on a contract until 30 June 2025, with his previous deal having been set to expire in June 2023.
Pioli has been in charge at Milan since the 2019-20 season, when he arrived to replace Marco Giampaolo. In his first season – conditioned by the Coronavirus emergency – Milan ended in sixth place after an excellent second half of the campaign, then improved to second place in 2020-21 and won a 19th Scudetto last season.
According to Calcio e Finanza, Pioli’s salary will grow from the current €3m net per season to €3.5m net, which means the gross salary of the former Lazio and Fiorentina boss would therefore be €6.48m.
