Cesc Fabregas has been back with the Arsenal academy this week, working alongside Jack Wilshere as part of his coaching development.

Posting on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Jack Wilshere broke the news that Cesc Fabregas was back visiting the Arsenal academy.

Wilshere wrote: “Learning from the best football brain I know! As a player, I wish I had the chance to play with this guy for longer but having the chance to pick his brain about certain situations and how he thinks about the game is invaluable. Thank you, Cesc.”

Sam Dean of The Daily Telegraph has since confirmed that Fabregas has been working with Arsenal’s academy staff, including Wilshere, over the last few days.

Fabregas is reportedly back at Arsenal as part of his coaching development, hoping to become a manager when he retires from playing.

As it stands, Fabregas is still under contract as a player, with a deal at Serie B side Como lasting until 2024.

The 35-year-old has made nine appearances this season, providing one assist.

But Como are somewhat struggling, sitting 15th and just three points above the relegation zone – despite winning their last two games.

Como had a couple of weeks without a game over the festive period, seemingly handing Fabregas some time off to travel to London.

Given Fabregas’ contract as a player, he’s not going to be linking up with Wilshere on a permanent basis for a while yet. But it seems the club’s doors are open to him when he needs the chance to gain some experience.
