HLN are reporting that Feyenoord are showing interest in Cercle Brugge’s Japanese striker Ayase Ueda. Cercle are looking to bring in at least €10m for the striker who led the side in goals last season. 24-year-old Ueda only cost the green and black side of Brugge around €1m last summer from the J-League. He went on to score 23 goals in 42 games across all competitions.
The striker began his career with Kashima Antlers, playing 103 games for them and scoring 47 goals. He has also been capped 15 times by the Japanese national side, scoring one goal. This first goal for the national team came in a recent 6-0 win over el Salvador.
Cercle are coming off their best season for almost a decade, having finished in the top eight and qualified for play-off two. Unfortunately they were unable to qualify for Europe, with Gent taking the last spot available by winning the four group play-off with two games remaining.
