136 years ago this very day a football club was born, more than just a football club, a club that would help the most vulnerable people in society.

Brother Walfrid was the man, he helped set up a club that would become iconic and is still going proudly strong in the present day, with our charitable work remaining as important as ever. We have never forgotten our roots, even if some have lost theirs.

In those 136 years, supporters of all generations have witnessed historical magical moments. Our club is more than a football club, it’s a way of life, it’s one big family.

Like all families there has been ups and downs. Thankfully mostly ups. What many generations of our supporters have witnessed throughout the many years is nothing short of remarkable. It’s been a real-life fairytale.

From the early days of winning leagues and cups, their Empire Exhibition trophy, their Coronation cup, skelping them at the Hampden in the Sun 7-1 game. Nine in a row, The Big cup. Nine in a row again. Centenary double.

Overcoming the odds, removing the old board and with Fergus McCann, a  new Dawn. A third  European final, another nine in a row, a quadruple treble. Eight trebles in all, one Invincible.

26/05/67 CELTIC PARK – The Lisbon Lions parade the European Cup at Parkhead after Celtic’s famous victory over Inter Milan.

It’s been a rollercoaster ride, but one that made us what we are, and that is one of the most successful and well known clubs in world football. We are unbroken, we are Celtic. Here’s to another 136 years and more.
