Celtic Football Club has set many records in Scottish football, with one of those records being the most number of goals scored in a single league campaign.
During the all conquering season of 1966/67 under Jock Stein we scored an impressive 111 goals over a 34 game league campaign, and that is unlikely to be beaten.
In the modern era of the SPFL Martin O’Neill’s side of 2003/04 amassed a superb tally of 105 goals over an 38 game campaign, whilst Brendan Rodgers Invincible side beat that tally by a single goal to register 106 goals in 2016/17 over the same amount of games.

The current side led yet again by Brendan Rodgers have amassed an impressive 97 goals after 33 games thus far, and with five games remaining it is entirely possible we could make some history and beat the tally set by the iconic Invincible side, and indeed the superb side of 2003/04.
Post split fixtures
Could Celtic score 15 goals in the five post-split matches to surpass the total achieved by Jock Stein’s Lisbon Lions side in that unforgettable 1966/67 campaign? It’s possibly too big an ask but it’s certainly achievable.

With the league title race essentially over we will have the Scottish Cup in our sights as we aim to win yet another domestic treble, but beating that tally of 106 or even 111 should be additional targets for the players in the remaining league fixtures. This is exactly the kind of thing that Brendan Rodgers likes to use in his team meetings so hopefully he’s reading this today.
It’s a milestone that’s quite achievable after all, and one that will earn them a place in the history books. Talking of Celtic breaking records, have a look at this…
