Glasgow City went top of ScottishPower SWPL 1 on Saturday but Celtic regained the leadership with three points at Hibernian on Sunday.

Glasgow City briefly went top with a 2-0 Saturday evening win over Hearts, Kinga Kozak sealing the points in the last 15 minutes. City had gone ahead in the first half through a Carly Girasoli own-goal. Maddie Fulton hit the bar and Brenna Lovera’s follow-up was saved by Charlotte Parker-Smith, only for the rebound to go in off Girasoli.

Celtic regained the leadership after a 4-2 result away to Hibernian, where they had gone three up in 31 minutes. Amy Gallacher completed her hat-trick after Hibs had pulled two goals back by half-time.

Rangers defeated Partick Thistle by a single goal, scored in the first half. Kirsty Maclean released Kirsty Howat who slotted the ball into the bottom corner. The result lifted Rangers back ahead of Glasgow City on goals scored.

Aberdeen came away from Spartans with three goals and three points, Bayley Hutchison bagging a brace and Hannah Stewart also on target.

Dundee United’s 5-3 win at Hamilton was marred by Emma McMurdo being stretchered off in stoppage-time. Three up at the break, Rachel Todd went on to complete a hat-trick for the visitors.

Motherwell’s Katie Rice and Louisa Boyes scored before Montrose halved the deficit, only for Kaela McDonald-Nguah to then make it 3-1.

Queen’s Park 1-0 (aet) Glasgow Women St Johnstone 3-2 (aet) Livingston Gartcairn 3-4 (aet) Kilmarnock Stirling University 0-3 Boroughmuir Thistle

Lucie Burns scored twice as Kilmarnock edged through 4-3 at Gartcairn, in one of three ties that want to extra time.

Ellie Kane struck for Queen’s Park moments before a shoot-out would have been required to settle the tie with Glasgow Women.

Fern Newbigging grabbed a late winner to send St Johnstone through against Livingston, while Boroughmuir Thistle got all three goals of the tie at Stirling University.
