Obviously a lot of things have gone wrong this season, and it can quickly descend into chaos theory if you start to wonder what may have happened in different situations if Fraser Forster had returned in the summer.

One thing that is completely clear is that neither Scott Bain or Conor Hazard are good enough just now to be the number 1 next year, while it also looks like Barkas could be sold after one season.

It means something needs to be done in the summer, and we’re likely going to see the club throw a decent amount of money at trying to fix the problem.

A report from The Boot Room has indicated that Celtic have been linked to Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow in the past, and it’s now expected that he’ll be available for £6m this summer so they’ve been urged to make a move for him.

He was always supposed to be the back-up to Martin Dubravka this season but he was given a chance and kept the number one spot for most of the season, while he’s also been praised for keeping Newcastle in games so he’s clearly a talented player.

The main concern with a player like this is that he’s playing well just now simply because he has so much to do and that makes him look like a star, whereas at Celtic he may only have one save to make and if he doesn’t do that then the pressure will start to build.

£6m is a lot but we’ve now learned just how important it is to have a reliable keeper in place, so it won’t be a surprise if that kind of money is spent on someone in the summer.

Darlow may be a decent option, but hopefully someone better could be found.
