Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou issued a fitness update ahead of his side’s clash with Motherwell on Saturday.

Speaking to the media, the Australian confirmed that Cameron Carter-Vickers, Carl Starfelt and Giorgos Giakoumakis would all miss out through injury.

The Greek striker sustained his injury while on international duty, while the former Tottenham defender had already missed time before the break.

However, Postecoglou did disclose that Carter-Vickers should make his return to action soon, although his continued absence means Mortiz Jenz is set to partner Stephen Welsh at the heart of defence.

Despite both attackers suffering knocks while with their countries, Sead Hakšabanović and Daizen Maeda are both in contention to feature at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon.

The same is true of David Turnbull who exited the Scotland squad after the win over Ukraine last week but has been given the green light to return this weekend.
