Celtic appear set to revisit their interest in Derby County’s Lee Buchanan. With Ange Postecoglou struggling for an obvious first choice left-back, the Scottish Sun are reporting that the English starlet is being considered for a move in January.

The 20-year-old has impressed under Wayne Rooney as chaos off the pitch has overshadowed any performances off it. The Rams were plunged into administration after Mel Morris admitted they could no longer continue as they were. This may result in administrators selling off a number of assets to balance the books. The report claims that Mick Doherty, a club scout, recently watched the player in action for Derby.

Ange Postecoglou has used Greg Taylor, Adam Montgomery, Liam Scales, Boli Bolingoli and Josip Juranovic at left-back this season and you would expect that the manager has a rough idea of who he would like to play on the left side of his defence in order to execute his style of play. However, with Taylor likely to be out for some time, Celtic may make a move for Buchanan..

Buchanan has made 57 appearances for Derby’s first team and is considered a rising star by Derby. The issue will be getting Derby County’s administrators to give up one of their best players when they have a year (and the option of a further year) on the deal for Buchanan.
