International breaks aren't always easy times for Celtic fans. They can’t see their team in action and have to worry about injuries when key players are appearing for their national teams. This week's scare around Kasper Schmeichel is a good example of that, as the goalkeeper was injured against Portugal.
Fan forums are filled with a variety of topics when no club matches are being played. This week even the BBC have been covering a variety of football stuff.
One story will make Celtic fans smile knowingly and leave their Glasgow rivals annoyed, never a bad thing to happen. The BBC have opened up the debate on which is the biggest football club in Britain.
Naturally, Celtic feature strongly in the debate and Rangers get an occasional mention as well. But of the two clubs, the BBC have placed the Hoops higher and in fifth place in Britain, behind Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City. The Ibrox club are eighth.
BBC Sport asked about 250 of its staff across the UK to take on the question. In the end, they averaged out the lists.
Afterwards, they also examined which clubs had won the most trophies. Even taking Rangers' full history, before and after their liquidation, into account, the count didn't favour the Ibrox side. Celtic led the table with 119 trophies, one ahead of the Ibrox club's total. And the Hoops might have a couple more by the end of this season.
After trophy counting the measures went on to look at areas where Celtic can't compete with the top clubs in England. Those include social media following, revenue generated, and the highest average Premier League position of the past 10 years. It's slightly harsh that those are out of reach but they are fair measures to determine Britain’s biggest club.
There was one more measure where both Glasgow clubs made the top ten. That took a look at stadium size. Both Glasgow sides may have featured higher over the years but stadium developments and moves for Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, and West Ham for example, will all have impacts. Regardless of those, Celtic stand at number six, with Ibrox in eighth place in Britain.
